ABOUT US: Funding

Foremost among those friends is the Lancaster County Drug & Alcohol Commission. Our Drug & Alcohol Information Center and most of our award-winning programs would not exist without their assistance and on-going support. For over 35 years the outstanding professionals and volunteer board at the Commission have provided a network of prevention, intervention and treatment services that rival those of any county in the United States.The work of the Commission is divided among three major areas:

Administration: Develops a comprehensive annual plan for the county, monitors contracts, collects outcome data, creates new services and ensures strong fiscal responsibility.
Prevention: Assesses needs, plans strategies, provides training and technical assistance, develops programs, enhances community development and ensures the delivery of the best available prevention and early intervention practices through contracts with its provider agencies.
Case Management: Provides treatment funding and monitoring for clients who have no other means of paying for their treatment. It serves residents who do not qualify for Veteran’s benefits, Medical Assistance or employer-sponsored group health plans.

Through their new Community Impact model, the United Way of Lancaster County is showing how everyone in the community can Give, Advocate and Volunteer. Their commitment of resources to our Youth Support, Skills for Life and Alternative Community Intervention programs helps us reach over 4,000 children every year.

Ever hear of the World's Largest Chicken Barbeque? The amazing men and women of the Sertoma Club cook over 20,000 dinners on the 3rd Saturday of every May to support projects like our Kids Kamp and Future Generations. Check out this fun group of get-it-done people.

Ken and Dave Stoudt of Stoudt Advisors and 117 of their best friends held a golf tournament this year to benefit our work. It was a beautiful day, not only in terms of blue skies, but in terms of the example set by this terrific group of leaders.

The Lancaster General healthcare system has consistently supported the community through programs and services that promote healthy living and preventive healthcare. Currently, it is focusing its attention on four key health priorities: Access to Healthcare; Healthy Weight Management; Reduction of Tobacco Use and Reduction of Domestic Violence.

Originating a half-century before the Declaration of Independence, the congregation of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity is the oldest in Lancaster and one of the oldest in Pennsylvania. The church has wrapped its warm arms around so many people in need, including all of the kids and families in our inner city Future Generations after-school program.

The PLCB works to prevent alcohol use by anyone under the age of 21. Currently it is supporting our work to build strong and healthy campuses in post-secondary technical and trade colleges. Throughout the state it provides excellent training, technical assistance, publications and assistance in coalition building.

The Armstrong Foundation was formed to enhance the neighborhoods in which Armstrong World Industries employees live and work. Its resources are allocated each year to the causes its employees are passionate about.

Helping communities, building partnerships, changing lives. That's been the focus of Alcoa Foundation for more than half a century. Locally, our kids and volunteers join with Alcoa employees every year to plant trees and beautify our neighborhoods. The foundation’s investments have continually supported our award winning work with youth.

Founded in 1923, the Junior League of Lancaster reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate a commitment to voluntarism. Each year it commits financial support and hundreds of volunteer hours toward improving communities. The JLL was a key supporter of our newest service learning project wherein older kids are leading the way for inner city first graders to make it all the way to graduation.

This small non-profit thrift shop in Manheim, PA helps its community in big ways. Most recently, it came to our aid when one of our Baby Think It Over infant simulators needed a major overhaul that we could not otherwise afford.
