About Us
The Lancaster Drug & Alcohol Information Center
was created out of a need to offer detailed, easily accessible
information about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Housed at
the Council on Drug & Alcohol Abuse and sponsored by the Lancaster
County Drug & Alcohol Commission, the Info Center offers personal
attention when you have questions.
The Center provides the opportunity for
parents, educators, drug & alcohol professionals and other concerned
community members to increase their awareness, knowledge and skills
in substance abuse treatment and prevention. Our services include…
- The
Lending Library offers over 750 books and videos for any
resident of Lancaster County to borrow. Stop by our office or browse
and reserve materials online.
- Information
and Referral, in the form of our HOPELINE, is available
weekdays from 9am to 5pm. Call (717) 299-2831 to have our Information
& Referral Specialist answer your questions about addiction,
treatment, intervention, and prevention.
- The
Publication Clearinghouse offers a wide variety of pamphlets,
brochures, posters, bookmarks and stickers free of charge.
- A
website with news and information about the treatment
and prevention of the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs
that is specifically tailored to the citizens of Lancaster
County , Pennsylvania .
- Training
and Consultation that caters to the needs of those who
want accurate and appropriate information on alcohol, tobacco, and
other drugs, such as family practitioners, employers/human resource
managers, clergy, and school personnel.
- Research
and Data specific to the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and
other drugs in Lancaster County , Pennsylvania .
